Symmetric Isostatic Frameworks with ℓ1 or ℓ∞ Distance Constraints
Combinatorial characterisations of minimal rigidity are obtained for symmetric 2-dimensional bar-joint frameworks with either `1 or `∞ distance constraints. The characterisations are expressed in terms of symmetric tree packings and the number of edges fixed by the symmetry operations. The proof uses new Henneberg-type inductive construction schemes.
متن کاملIsostatic Block and Hole Frameworks
A longstanding problem in rigidity theory is to characterize the graphs which are minimally generically rigid in 3-space. The results of Cauchy, Dehn, and Alexandrov give one important class: the triangulated convex spheres, but there is an ongoing desire for further classes. We provide such a class, along with methods to verify generic rigidity that can be extended to other classes. These meth...

for some n , acting primitively on the set of vertices. This forms a part of the programme for the classification of all finite primitive distance transitive graphs begun in [76]; for in [76] this classification is reduced to the determination of all such graphs whose automorphism group G is either almost simple (that is, T o f f S Aut T for some nonabelian simple group T ) or affine (that is, ...
متن کاملSymmetric Argumentation Frameworks
This paper is centered on the family of Dung’s finite argumentation frameworks when the attacks relation is symmetric (and nonempty and irreflexive). We show that while this family does not contain any well-founded framework, every element of it is both coherent and relatively grounded. Then we focus on the acceptability problems for the various semantics introduced by Dung, yet generalized to ...
متن کاملWhen Is a Symmetric Pin-jointed Framework Isostatic?
Maxwell's rule from 1864 gives a necessary condition for a framework to be isostatic in 2D or in 3D. Given a framework with point group symmetry, group representation theory is exploited to provide further necessary conditions. This paper shows how, for an isostatic framework, these conditions imply very simply stated restrictions on the numbers of those structural components that are unshifted...
